Our Story
Family-Owned Nursery in the Tennessee Valley
What started as a dream in the vibrant earth of Guanajuato, Mexico, and traveled through the industrial lines of Kansas, has blossomed into the Tennessee Valley's premier family-owned nursery and landscape design company. Apache Nursery is the American Dream realized — built on the belief that a home is only as complete as the life growing around it.
We're a local, family-run nursery, not a big-box supply chain. Every plant and design comes from decades of hands-on expertise, and every purchase supports a real small business investing in your community.
Meet the owners
Behind every yard we transform are Juan and Elsa, the husband-and-wife team who built Apache Nursery from the ground up. With decades of experience at top-tier nurseries, Juan brings precision tree design and trimming to every property, along with custom stone tables and outdoor gathering spaces that turn ordinary yards into showpieces. Elsa tends her own vibrant flower gardens and grows the peppers and tomatoes behind her fresh, homemade salsas — bringing the same personal touch and care to everything the two of them design together.
Whether you're a new homeowner starting your first landscape, a gardener seeking healthy greenhouse stock, a tree enthusiast, or ready to invest in a standout yard, Apache Nursery delivers plants and craftsmanship that add lasting beauty and value.
Serving the Tennessee Valley with premium nursery stock, expert tree care, custom stone hardscaping, and landscape design rooted in generations of passion.
No leaf is left unturned
Nothing is too small or too big for us. Whether your goal requires a shovel, hose, or any tool, for that matter, you don’t just get left to toil under the beating sun by yourself.
We take care of all the work so you don’t have to:
Yard Cleanup: Got overgrowth or debris that looks too overbearing to deal with alone? We consult on the price based on the cleanup and get to work.
Tree Installation: Looking to make room for a single or array of trees? We handle the care that goes into that, including the cleanup.
Tree and Shrub Shaping: Shaping a certain species of shrubs, like boxwoods, into spirals or orbs is the polish we deliver so you get the intentional look you've always been looking for.
Custom projects: Got a whole lot of evergreen ideas in your head but no idea how to execute it? We don’t settle for the laziest option, so you get the features that bring vitality to your space that are asked for, not forced.
Thirty years in the making
Juan learned this trade over about 30 years at Boshancee Nursery, formerly based in New Market, AL
If you used to be familiar and wondered where the experienced hands went, this is the same hands-on work from someone who got deep in the craft from the get-go.
